Online hotel distributor, SiteMinder announced it will partner with New Zealand’s largest travel retailer, House of Travel, in its first ever alliance with a ‘bricks and mortar’ travel agency. “[T]his new partnership with the House of Travel is particularly exciting as it’s our first link with a multi channel travel retailer rather than just an online agency,” SiteMinder director Mike Ford said. The partnership will allow House of Travel consultants to book hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the UK which use SiteMinder’s online technology. “This new tie-in means we will be able to put our hotel customers’ rooms in front of hundreds of House of Travel consultants...and will help our hotel customers attract a lot more New Zealanders through their doors.” “[W]e are delighted to be working with SiteMinder, which will ensure we have access to the most competitive rates in the market across thousands of properties,” House of Travel product director Dave Fordyce said. The next phase in the partnership will see House of Travel’s consumer website listing SiteMinder’s hotel customers by the end of the year. “[B]y reducing the clutter created by multiple websites, we are enhancing the client’s experience...this will deliver more choice at the best possible rate for our customers.” More than 3500 accommodation providers in over 30 countries now use SiteMinder as a booking site channel manager. |
