Global distribution systems (GDS) provider, Travelport, is set to accelerate the roll out of Travelport Leisure, its new leisure portal for travel agents into 62 new countries over the next month.

Recording 5,000 hits in its first week to over 25,000 by the end of its first month, the surge in Travelport Leisure’s popularity has encouraged the company to step up operations.

“The phenomenal response to Travelport Leisure has been truly astounding, with a more than 400 per cent increase in webpage traffic around the world in the first month,” Travelport Land and Sea Vice President Jane Lewis said.

“Agents expressed a great need for a web-based portal that is able to pull together multiple sources of hotel content – and that is exactly what we have provided.”

Accessed via a free of charge URL, Travelport Leisure gives travel agents, if they subscribe to a Travelport GDS or not, access to extensive local and global hotel, hostel, and car options/

The countries who will receive Travelport Leisure in the next month include: Australia, China, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and USA.

Japan’s launch date is yet to be confirmed.
